Summertime

Hello Everyone! I'm sorry it has been so long since I have made a new post on here. It has been a crazy summer. Weather and event wise. How has everyone else's summer been? My family and I have had a lot of fun participating in the local activities.
We have a minor league baseball team called the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs that we love to go watch play. They are college students from all over the United States and they are very talented. Here is a link to their website if you would like to check it out: http://mydiamonddawgs.com.
We have also been visiting with family and enjoying our summer. My husband recently went to the Nascar Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glenn International. He had a BLAST to say the least. I will post some pictures that he took while he was there. He is a HUGE Dale Earnhardt Jr. Fan and was so excited to get to see his car and go down into the pit to meet some of the crew members and drivers. We also had a surprise birthday party for him that weekend. He is so hard to surprise but with the help of my wonderful cousin Jessica we got him good.
This past Friday (8/19/2011) I had the privilege of being in my good friend Christine's wedding. It was such a beautiful event and I am so happy for her and her new husband Jeff. They make such a wonderful couple and I am so glad that Christine has finally found someone who truly loves her and will treat her right.
Last night my daughter Lexie had her very first soccer practice and she loved it. She has always picked up on things very quickly and this was no different. She even scored her very first goal. I am so proud of her. She is growing up so fast. I'm glad she is doing soccer instead of cheerleading too. Soccer isn't as demanding as cheerleading was and she still gets to enjoy her summer.
Well I guess that is all for now. I will post some pictures for you all to see what we have been up to. Until next time.

Catching Up

Hi Everyone,

I know it has been a while since I have made a post on here and I am very sorry. It has been a busy couple of months. I am so excited that summer weather has finally arrived. I love the heat. My daughter and I participated in her Girl Scout talent show at the end of April. It was a lot of fun. We did a dance to the "Monster Mash" song off of the Just Dance game the the Wii! We had a blast! I will post some pictures from it to the post. My daughter was in our towns annual Memorial Day parade this past Monday. She was a little nervous but did fantastic. Memorial Day was a lot of fun. My husband, daughter, and I had a cook out at my parents and my brother came up too which was so nice. He lives about an hour and a half away, so we don't get to see him that often which breaks my heart. I miss him a lot and usually end up crying when we have to leave. We also had my cousin Tracy's daughter's 4th birthday party. Ryleigh (Tracy's daughter) is such a little cutie pie and she seemed to love all of the attention from everyone. I am looking forward to a busy yet fun-filled summer. Well until next time.

Season 12 of Dancing With The Stars

Season 12 of Dancing With The Stars officially started this past Monday 3/21/2011. I must say it is a pretty talented cast. I can't say who I was more impressed with. I thought they all did an amazing job. If I had to pick a dancer that surprised me the most it would be Kirstie Alley though. She did an AMAZING job for someone her age. I truly enjoyed watching her dance. That woman can definitely move. Good Luck to the entire cast.

Josh Duhamel's Kids Run for Japan Tsunami victims

Actor Josh Duhamel of Transformers and several movies and TV shows is hosting a kids run this weekend to help benefit the Tsunami victims in Japan. If there is any way you can help or you would like to participate in the run go to www.reliefrun.com. Thank you for your support!

Chord Overstreet on Ellen

I LOVE Glee and the entire cast and recently Chord Overstreet (Sam) was on Ellen talking about those extremely short gold shorts he wore for one of the episodes. You must check out the video.

The Joys of Winter in New York

Fortunately winter is almost over here in upstate New York. I finally had the chance to take my daughter sledding last weekend and I must say that I had the most fun I have ever had sledding. I enjoy the outdoors but not when the temperature is below freezing, so needless to say I don't get out much this time of year. We were joined by my cousin Tanya and her two boys Landon and Taegan and we had a blast. I felt like a little kid again. The weather was beautiful and the kids were so much fun. One thing I used to do when my brother and I played outside in the winter was eat the snow. Don't worry though I didn't eat any odd colored snow just the fresh snow. I taught my daughter this wonderful pastime too and I must say I think she enjoys it as much as I always did. I will add the pictures of this to the post for you all to see. What are some of your favorite winter pastimes? Do you like snowmobiling, sledding, skiing, snowshoeing, or another winter sport. I would love to hear your stories so feel free to post them in the comments. Until next time!

Pop Star Crush

My 8 year old daughter has this little crush on Justin Beiber just as many other little girls do. She goes crazy every time she sees him and his pictures cover her walls in her room. Next Friday (2/11/2011) Mr. Beiber has a movie coming out that she is dying to see. Are there any other moms out there that are going through the same thing with their daughters? I am going to take her to see the movie because I to was once just like her. I think everybody has had a certain musician or pop star that they have had a little crush on. For me it was Justin Timberlake from N'SYNC and Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys. Who were your celebrity crushes?

Starting a New Year

Hello Everyone. I hope you are all looking forward to the New Year like I am. 2010 has been quite a year of ups and downs. My family and I are in the process of moving which is exciting and exhausting at the same time. Our new place is so nice. I can't wait to be there for good. My News Years Resolution for 2011 is to not stress so much and enjoy the time I have with my friends and family. I have lost too many loved ones and it has really taught me to cherish the moments I have with the family still here with me. As you know I am a huge Vampire Diaries fan and a huge fan of Ian Somerhalder. If you are too you should check out his new foundation at http://www.isfoundation.com and donate to help Ian save our furry friends and our environment. I wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year!

Dancing With The Stars Week 9

Wow I cannot believe we are at the finals for DWTS already. It has been an interesting season. I was rooting for Audrina Patridge from the beginning and I was so sad to see her go. I also enjoyed watching Kurt Warner, Bristol Palin, and Jennifer Gray. It has been an entertaining season to say the least. Who do you think will win the coveted mirror ball trophy next week? Bristol, Kyle, or Jennifer? Who were you most shocked to see leave?

New Green Works Cleaning Products

As I mentioned in my first post, I am going back to school to pursue a degree in Small Business Management. I eventually would like to open my own cleaning business and I was wondering if any of you have tried the Green Works cleaning products. I have used the multi-purpose cleaner and I really like it. I would like to try the Laundry detergent but I am a little nervous because my daughter and I both have sensitive skin and can only use certain products and when I start my business I have to make sure I use a product that will work for any skin type. If any of you have tried it and like it would you please let me know. I really like the other products in this line and would love to continue with them. Thanks for your input.

First Post

First, I would like to thank you for visiting my blog. Please feel free to leave comments on topics that I post about. I would love to hear your feedback. I started this blog to communicate with other moms and people in general about life and our favorite things. I am a huge Vampire Diaries Fan. I never miss an episode. I also love The Twilight Saga and have read all four books three times each. I just purchased the books that go along with The vampire Diaries series. I can't wait to receive them. I am currently working towards my degree in Small Business management in hopes to some day own and operate my own cleaning business. If anybody has any ideas on how to start a successful business please send me your ideas. I will welcome them with open arms. I look forward to hearing from everyone. Have a nice week.
